The Rev. Jane Ross, Deacon - email: email@example.com
I have been with Hope+in+the+Desert Episcopal Church since the core group to start our mission was launched in 1999. I quickly became involved in all aspects of worship and the many activities designed to establish our church in our new neighborhood, such as planning events and coordinating Alpha Programs. When I retired from my position as counselor at St. Pius X High after twenty years, I gained much more time and opportunity to serve the Lord in establishing Hope.
God placed a call on my life to ordained ministry even before I knew about Hope+in+the+Desert, but I put His message aside. His call continued to surface during my early involvement at Hope, and I finally responded. I received my seminary education at the School for Ministry of the Diocese of the Rio Grande and was ordained a Vocational Deacon on July 30, 2005. As part of my responsibilities as Deacon at Hope+in+the+Desert, I coordinate the many volunteers to the lay ministries that are required for Sunday worship and visit the home-bound. I enjoy welcoming new people to Hope and keeping in touch with them as they become part of our Church community.
I am a cradle Episcopalian who is married to a Roman Catholic in 1969. This has worked out very well for both during our marriage. We respect our similarities and our differences in beliefs and worship. We have raised two wonderful children who live in Albuquerque with their spouses and children. We enjoy the many activities we share with our grandchildren.
Hope+in+the+Desert is an intergenerational, Christ-centered community that welcomes everyone, no matter where you are in your spiritual search. I trust that you will feel God's joyful presence in our church and in its people.
