Healing Prayer Service

in the style of Taizé

Prayer is powerful.

This service is a wonderful way to strengthen your relationship with God in a peaceful, spiritual setting. This service includes the Word spoken and sung with beautiful live instrumental music, moments of stillness, and the opportunity to receive quiet prayer and anointing (if desired) for ourselves and others.

What is Taizé?

Taizé is a small village in France that is home to an ecumenical community of one hundred Catholic and Protestant monks from around the world. They are devoted to the idea of peace through meditation, silence and prayer.  Protestant pastor Roger Schutz-Marsauche founded the community in 1940. In 1945 the first brothers, all Protestant, arrived from Switzerland. Today the community is made up of more than 100 brothers from different Christian faiths and more than 25 different countries.
Taizé (pronounced: tay-zay) is a prayerful form of music known for its simple, yet rich and meditative character. Taizé music often takes the structure of an ostinato (a simple melody that repeats over and over) and is meant to serve as a kind of musical centering prayer.
